Application of load cell in belt scale

Before strain gauge load cells became a common weighing method in industrial weighing fields, mechanical lever scales were commonly used. Mechanical scales can weigh everything from pills to train cars with adequate accuracy and reliability as long as they are properly calibrated and maintained. Methods of operation include the use of weight balancing mechanisms or the detection of forces generated by mechanical levers. The earliest pre-strain gauge force sensors included both hydraulic and pneumatic designs. In 1843, British physicist Sir Charles Wheatstone invented a bridge circuit that could measure resistance. Wheatstone bridge circuits are ideal for measuring resistance changes in strain gauges. Although the first stick-on resistance wire strain gauges were developed as early as the 1940s, it was not until the boom in modern electronics that the technology became technically and economically viable. Since then, strain gauges have been widely used in mechanical scales and independent load cells.

Belt scale is currently widely used in the manufacturing industry, it can realize the real-time weighing of materials in the conveying process, more accurate and rapid measurement of material weight, so as to improve production efficiency. Weighing sensor plays a very important role in the weighing process of belt scale.

For a long time, the measurement of materials is mainly weighed in a static batch way, such as the use of various platform scales, ground scales, hopper scales, etc., these weighing equipment require the material to be weighed in a static situation. For processes that require continuous operation in mass production, batch weighing of solid materials destroys the continuity of the process, which is often not allowed.

Belt scale is a kind of measuring equipment that continuously weighs the material in the process of conveying solid bulk material on the belt conveyor. It can measure the instantaneous flow and cumulative flow of the material on the belt conveyor without interrupting the flow of the material. With the expansion of the scale of production, the amount of material transported by the belt conveyor is as high as hundreds of tons, thousands of tons or even tens of thousands of tons per hour, in this case, often only with the belt scale is a realistic and feasible program, and the use of static weighing, due to the increase in the volume of larger weighing equipment, and also spend a lot of time, which is economically very cost-effective.
