With the rapid development of modern information technology, especially at the third session of the 12th National People's Congress on March 5, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang proposed the "Internet +" action plan for the first time in the government work report. Internet of Things technology is a key development area in the "Internet +" plan, and sensor technology is the core part of Internet of Things technology, so the "Sensors and Detection Technology" course is particularly important. The course "Sensors and Detection Technology" is highly comprehensive and practical, and is an indispensable professional basic course for engineering majors such as electronic information engineering, mechanical engineering and automation.
At present, private undergraduate colleges and universities are constantly exploring the direction of cultivating applied talents. The biggest feature of applied talents is that graduates must not only possess certain basic theoretical knowledge, but also possess strong practical production skills. For application-oriented talents, in future jobs, it is important to master the selection and use of appropriate sensors that meet production needs, rather than designing and developing sensors like scientific researchers. On the specific front line of production, existing conditions can be used to solve practical application problems in the production process. Therefore, in the teaching of sensor and detection technology, it is necessary to solve practical application problems and enable students to master the application of sensors and measurement methods in engineering under the driving force of application.
At present, in the teaching plan of this college, 36 credit hours are allocated for the theoretical teaching part of the course Sensors and Detection Technology, and the textbook used is "Modern Detection Technology". The content of the textbook "Modern Detection Technology" is divided into sensors and related detection technologies, which are mainly explained from the perspective of the physical characteristics and operating principles of the sensors. As for the application cases, there is very little space in the textbook. The teaching method is mainly lectures in PPT classes. Judging from the students' reactions in class, the teaching effect is not ideal. Blindly instilling theoretical knowledge in the classroom cannot allow students to master the basic characteristics of sensors, and it does not help much in the ability to apply sensors.
In the teaching plan of this college, 12 semester hours are allocated for the experimental part of the course Sensors and Detection Technology, which uses an integrated experimental bench and various packaged sensor modules. There are metal foil strain gauge sensor modules, inductive experimental modules, capacitive sensor experimental modules, photoelectric experimental modules, etc. These experimental modules integrate and package the measurement circuits inside the module, and the experimental content is mainly to verify the physical characteristics of the sensor. The operating steps are fixed and the experimental results are single. Many students only perform experiments mechanically according to the experimental instructions, and cannot deeply understand the application method of the sensor through experiments.
